Terms of use
Last updated 18 October 2026
The short version
- Rookie is free. Driver, Race Team and the add-ons are subscriptions you can cancel at any time.
- Lemon Squeezy sells the subscriptions for us and takes the payment.
- Use Grid Central for your own sim racing, within iRacing's rules.
- Your laps, setups and paints are yours, and most of them never leave your PC.
1. Who we are
Grid Central ("we" or "us") is based in New South Wales, Australia. These terms are an agreement between you and us. They cover the Grid Central app, its companion program, the team page, this website and the online services that come with them (together, "Grid Central").
By installing or using Grid Central, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Who can use Grid Central
- You must be at least 18.
- Grid Central works with iRacing, so you also need an iRacing membership, and you must follow iRacing's own terms.
- Grid Central is an independent app. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations.
3. Your account
- The free trial and the paid plans need a Grid Central account: an email and a password. Rookie works without one.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- An account is for one person. Don't share it or sell it.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or our services at risk. We'll tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
4. Plans, trials and payments
- Plans. Rookie is free. Driver, Race Team, Race Team seat packs and the Broadcast add-on are paid subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. What each includes, and its price, is on our pricing page.
- Who sells them. Lemon Squeezy is our authorised reseller and merchant of record. You buy the subscription from Lemon Squeezy, which takes the payment and charges any sales tax or VAT. Its buyer terms also apply to the purchase. We never see your card details.
- Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. Your plan carries on until the end of the period you've paid for, and then Grid Central drops to Rookie.
- Price changes. If we change a price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you want to.
- Free trial. A new account gets 7 days of Driver with no card needed, once per PC.
- Beta tester offer. People who tested Grid Central before launch can get 6 months of Driver free, then pay $6.99 a month for as long as that subscription stays active. It needs a card at checkout, must be started within 30 days of launch day, and can be used once. If the subscription is cancelled, the offer ends.
- One PC at a time. You can install Grid Central on any number of PCs, but a subscription works on one at a time. Move my subscription here moves it, and the PC it leaves drops to Rookie. A PC that stays offline keeps its plan for up to 30 days.
- Race Team. The team's owner chooses which drivers get the team's seats, by the email each driver signs in with. The owner can change them at any time, up to the seats paid for.
- Refunds. Our refund policy explains when you can get your money back.
5. Your licence to use Grid Central
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and use Grid Central on Windows PCs for your own sim racing (on Race Team, for your team's racing), for as long as you follow these terms.
- Don't copy, sell, rent or share Grid Central or a paid plan, and don't get around its plan checks. Don't reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
- Grid Central includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in its third-party notices. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
6. iRacing and other services
- Grid Central reads iRacing's live data on your PC. If you sign in with iRacing, it also reads your results and ratings from iRacing.
- It never changes iRacing's files. It changes the pit menu or in-car settings only when you ask it to.
- Some features use other services you choose to connect, such as Discord and OBS. Their terms apply when you use them.
- Changes made by iRacing or those services can stop a feature working. We'll try to fix it quickly, but we can't promise that every feature will always work.
7. Your content
- Your paints, setups, laps, settings and messages are yours. Most of them never leave your PC.
- When you use a feature that shares something (the team hub, team chat, shared laps, Discord posts or the lap library), you allow us to store and send it as needed to make that feature work.
- Only share what you have the right to share. That includes logos and trademarks in your paints.
8. Using Grid Central fairly
Don't use Grid Central to:
- break iRacing's rules or anyone else's rights;
- harass people, including in team chat and on Discord;
- send malware or spam, or try to break into, overload or copy our services or other people's accounts.
9. Changes to Grid Central
We keep improving Grid Central, so we add, change and sometimes remove features. If we remove a main feature of a paid plan during your subscription, you can cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part of the period you paid for.
Test versions can have bugs. Use Save a backup in Settings to keep a copy of your data.
10. Racing calls are aids
Spotter calls, the engineer, strategy and coaching help you, but they can be wrong. You're responsible for how you race. Grid Central is for sim racing only, never for driving a real vehicle.
11. Our responsibility to you
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those guarantees, or the consumer rights you have where you live.
Apart from that, Grid Central is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows:
- we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost race results or lost data;
- our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Grid Central in the 12 months before the claim;
- where the Australian Consumer Law lets us limit our liability for breaking a guarantee, we limit it to supplying the service again or paying what it costs to have it supplied again.
12. Ending
- You can stop using Grid Central at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our privacy policy).
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we end a paid plan without a good reason, we'll refund the unused part.
- Sections 7, 11 and 14 still apply after these terms end.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using Grid Central after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using it.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. If something goes wrong, please contact us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its consumer laws and can bring a claim where you live.
